Sundays bring us the political talk shows. If you see something interesting on one of them, jump on the comment board and talk about it. According to Politico, here is the lineup for this week’s shows:
Meet the Press (NBC) — Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), another member of the Armed Services Committee.
This Week (ABC) — Arizona Sen. John McCain, the 2008 Republican presidential nominee and ranking member of the Senate Armed Forces Committee, and also Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States, Husain Haqqani.
Face the Nation (CBS) — Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), Democratic Policy Committee Chairman Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-Mich.).
State of the Union (CNN) — Outgoing Defense Secretary Robert Gates. Gates, who began his government career in the CIA and eventually served under eight presidents, will surely discuss the wars in Afghanistan and Libya and the expected cuts in defense spending. He’s retiring at the end of the month, to be replaced by CIA Director Leon Panetta.
He’ll be followed by David Axelrod, senior strategist for President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign.
Fox News Sunday — Outgoing Defense Secretary Robert Gates here as well. Also, comedian Jon Stewart, host of “The Daily Show,” in his first Sunday show interview.
Newsmakers (CSPAN) — Broadcasting live from the meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Baltimore.
Political Capital (Bloomberg TV) — Indiana Sen. Dick Lugar, a Republican who’s facing a challenge from the right in his reelection bid next year.
